Pathways to Registration

To register as a “Psychologist” you are required to complete a minimum of 6 years of education and/or training. Registration is through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHP RA) determined by the Psychology Board of Australia.

The following steps must be completed to gain registration;

1. Complete a Bachelor degree in Psychology (APAC accredited).
2. Complete a 4^th year Honours or Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (APAC accredited).
3. Complete an internship or postgraduate degree in Psychology and sit the National Examination of Psychology.

To be eligible for endorsement in a Psychology Board of Australia approved area of practice (e.g. Clinical, Organisational Psychology), MPsych, Doctorate and Combined graduates must undertake a Registrar program.
